Agnes Baker Pilgrim of the Confederated tribes of Siletz is the oldest living member of the Takelma tribe, Grandmother Agnes has been named a living legend of her tribe. She restored the traditional Salmon Ceremony and has been an outspoken “voice for the voiceless” animals, trees and all beings. Our intention is to further honor her and her people with the 6th Council Gathering at her homeland.

Greetings!

We have only a few places left for the Grandmothers Council Gathering this August.  Will you be there?  It promises to be a week of gratitude, discoveries, and shared joys.  To sign up, please visit the registration page on the Grandmothers website.

We arrive in Lincoln City as guests of Grandmother Agnes Baker Pilgrim, her family and her people of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz. Our prayer is that they be greatly honored during this council time. Our intention is that our presence is gentle and our footprints in their sacred tribal land be ones of peace.

Program:

The latest details on the program for the Open Council time are posted to the Events page, which will be updated frequently.   Please know that we will be in sacred space and that the Grandmothers follow forces that are beyond the rules of time. The program may vary according to this more profound guidance.

After the closing of the Open Council time (August 3rd -7th), there is a Tribal Pow Wow on August 8th and 9th which is free of charge (donations welcome). The Grandmothers Council will be there each day. It will take place on tribal lands about ½ hour from the Council Gathering site. We do not provide transportation for the public to this event.

Volunteer/ Seva:

Thank you all for entering into this with a heart of service, for it is this heart that the Grandmothers embody and cultivate in all of us. We are grateful for the many devoted hours which have gone into making this council time a walk of peace. In keeping with the Grandmothers’ guidance, you will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator, for each of us will be contributing in some way to make this council a great time of unity.

We so appreciate the tuition that each of you will offer. In this way, everyone contributes a little to the substantial budget required to bring our beloved Grandmothers from the four corners of the world.

We look forward to joining with you in August!

Enjoy your days until then,
